North Tonawanda Athletic Association to Celebrate 50 Years of Youth Sports with a Ceremony Set for August 30 with City and State Leaders in Attendance
North Tonawanda, NY — The North Tonawanda Athletic Association (NTAA) is proud to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, marking five decades of youth football, cheerleading, and community service. The celebration will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the NTAA Fields, 1241 Strad Avenue, with events scheduled throughout the day.
The highlight of the celebration will be a formal anniversary ceremony at 2:30 PM, featuring special guest speakers including North Tonawanda Mayor Austin Tylec and Niagara County Legislator Randy Brandt. The ceremony will honor NTAA’s founding families, longtime volunteers, and the generations of youth athletes and cheerleaders who have made the organization a cornerstone of the community. A dedication of the new logo and a wall-mounted logo will occur during the ceremony
In addition, New York State Senator Robert Ortt will serve as Honorary Captain for the NTAA Tigers’ 3:00 PM game, underscoring the significance of this milestone to the broader Western New York Community.
The day will feature a full schedule of youth football and cheerleading games. A community reception will follow at 7:00 PM at Rescue Fire Hall (1241 Strad Ave), where alumni, families, and supporters are invited to reconnect and celebrate together.
“This is more than just a celebration—it’s a tribute to 50 years of teamwork, mentorship, and pride in North Tonawanda,” said Jonathan DiVirgilio, NTAA President. “We’re honored to welcome so many community leaders and alumni back to where it all began.”

Please Note: Strad Avenue will be closed between D’Angelo Drive and the southern driveway of 1241 Strad Avenue from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. There will be food trucks available in this area to enjoy.
