NTAA RAISES STANDARDS FOR YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUES NATIONWIDE BY ACHIEVING USA FOOTBALL LEAGUE RECOGN

Committed to providing a better and safer youth football experience for athletes, parents, and coaches league-wide, North Tonawanda Athletic Association based in North Tonawanda, NY attained official league recognition from USA Football through its League Excellence Program for 2022. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is an official member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

As a recognized league within USA Football’s League Excellence Program, NTAA adheres to some of the highest standards across all youth sports to deliver a fun, competitive and player-first environment. Attaining the designation begins with having all coaches certified through USA Football’s nationally accredited youth coach certification before taking the field this season.

The newly revamped and age-based coach certification includes:
Health & Safety Courses with content from leading U.S. health organizations and educators
Coaching 101 Course, promoting whole-child development through a transformational coaching approach.
Football Development Model Age-Appropriate Modules customized for ages 5+, 8+, 10+ & 12+
Contact Courses in shoulder tackling, defeating blocks and blocking techniques, all designed to reduce helmet contact
Anti-Abuse Course created by NBC SportsEngine’s National Center for Safety Initiatives

NTAA has achieved silver level by offering several different game types, including tackle and flag.  Our coaches and volunteers are background checked through our parent league, NEYSA.

“The fun, fitness and social development kids gain through football combines the best of sport and health,” USA Football CEO & Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said. “The moms, dads and volunteers who power the [NAME OF ORGANIZATION] deserve recognition for the standards they uphold and everything they make possible for their kids. This is youth sports – football in particular – at its best.”
